Day 27: Exodus 16-18; Matthew 19:16-30

"What you’re doing is not good," Moses’s father-in-law said to him. "You will certainly wear out both yourself and these people who are with you, because the task is too heavy for you. You can’t do it alone." (Exodus 18:17-18, CSB)

Today my reflection has turned to celebration and thanksgiving. If ever there was a moment that Jethro's (Moses' father-in-law) words were proven true, this January at MCN has been just that. It has been a whirlwind of full Body Life...in worship, discipleship, mission, and service. Just one example has been the stewardship of our facilities...caring for the space that God has given us to engage in, or launch, all of these vital aspects of true church life. Not one person could accomplish all that has been done by themselves. Trying to calculate all the volunteer hours in all of these areas is mind-boggling. Someone has said it would not surprise them if we have seen upwards of 900. True! I am in awe as a pastor and my gratitude turns from thanksgiving to praise. Glory be to God! Thank you is not enough. What has happened here brings God pleasure (Psalm 133:1). God blesses those who selflessly serve that His Kingdom may come on earth. God bless you!!
