Day 53: Numbers 8-10; Mark 5:21-43

Living in the presence of God.

Wouldn't it be so much easier if we had a pillar of cloud or fire? If we could see Jesus like the disciples did, arising when He got up, walking where He walked, resting where He rested? Better yet, seeing God's presence, His shekinah (glory) resting on the tent of meeting, hearing the words of Jesus, instructive, comforting, profound, wouldn't that be easier? What if we had a prayer that we started our day with: "Arise, LORD, push away Your enemies until they flee in a thousand directions!"? Yes, and a prayer to end our day: "Rest in our presence, LORD, as we rest in Yours!"? Wouldn't it be easier (Numbers 10:35-36)?

Oh, wait! Didn't Jesus promise that we would not be stranded like orphans, that He would not only be with us, but in us, by His Holy Spirit (John 14:15-17)? That we are His living temple, God residing in us by His Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19)? Where can we go from His Spirt, from His presence (Psalm 139:7)?

Come, Live in the presence of God!
