Day 141: 1 Chronicles 4-5; John 8:1-11; Day 43 Prayer Journal

To me there is no doubt that the Holy Spirit made certain that John 8:1-11 was recorded in our Scripture. It is powerful, poignant and personal. The woman caught in a grievous sin encounters Christ and discovers God's great and amazing grace is real. It's personal. Those conniving scribes and Pharisees reveal their own great sin, and confronted with their own proud and judgmental sinfulness, slink away. She goes away forgiven. They leave unchanged. The truth is, I identify with both the woman and the Pharisees...I have stood in need of forgiveness, I have judged sinners. Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me!

Now I embrace Jesus' words upon receiving His great and amazing grace: "Neither do I condemn you. Go, and sin no more!" Only by grace in the power of His Spirt, with a heart wide open and eyes turned toward Him, am I able to walk this journey and do so in community, inviting others to join me on The Way.
