40 Days of Prayer and Fasting - Day 5
Day 5 – Friday September 15th
“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened."
-Matthew 7:7-8
Sometimes we encounter closed doors along our journey. We’ve all heard the phrase which proclaims that when God closes a door, he opens a window. While this advice is not from the bible, it does point to God moving (and leading us) in unexpected ways. Sometimes, however, a closed door is just a closed door, and God is not the one that closed it. When we encounter a closed door along our way, we have a choice: we can give up, or we can knock. If your way is blocked, that does not need to be the end of the journey. If there is something you need, ask God and ask your church family. If there is something you need to find, seek it like the woman seeking her lost coin. And if a door is closed, knock. As we move towards our time of REfreshing, think about and pray over what closed doors you’ve encountered… and then knock.
