Day 12 – Saturday September 23rd
For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.

The author of Hebrews describes God’s word as being sharper than any double-edged sword. Swords can be dangerous if you’re at the wrong end of them, and they can be both protective and defensive if you are at the right end. However, a sword left on the bedside table to gather dust can neither be dangerous nor defensive. God’s word can cut to the heart and do some necessary damage to our normal way of doing things, but it can’t do that from afar. We need to take it in. During this season of prayer and fasting REturn to and REestablish a habit of daily bible reading. Make use of a reading plan on the bible app or other places. Read with a friend or your spouse. Open your mind and heart to what God will say to you, and follow where he leads.
