40 Days of Prayer and Fasting - Day 20

Day 20 – Tuesday October 3rd
When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them.

On the day of Pentecost, the sanctifying grace of the Holy Spirit fell upon the gathered disciples. Their lives were completely changed in a moment as the Spirit empowered them to do what they couldn’t before. They spoke boldly, acted justly, and walked humbly. They were enabled to bear witness in ways that were unimagined before the coming of the Spirit. The Church as a whole and individual Christians need to seek the REnewal of the Holy Spirit sometimes, the RE-creation as God forms us into new creations. This is part of what we are hoping for when we gather for REvival. Pray that God will meet us when we gather, that the Holy Spirit will fall afresh upon us, pour out his grace again, and enable us for the work he has prepared for us.
