40 Days of Prayer and Fasting - Day 21
Day 21 – Wednesday October 4th
Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. This is what the ancients were commended for.
-Hebrews 11:1-2
Our world is often chaotic and uncertain, and we all are tossed like ships in a storm against the jagged and rocky shores of its brokenness. In a world broken by sin, a world that is chaotic and tumultuous, hope is a lighthouse that pierces the darkness and assurance is a life raft with a towline guiding us into the safe harbor. Another translation of this verse states that “faith is the evidence of things not seen” (NKJV). Evidence is important. Evidence is what is provided by a witness as they share their experience. Our faith is the evidence that we share in out calling to be witnesses. REcommit yourself, and pray that you may live out your faith deliberately and consistently amidst this chaotic, stormy world. Living out your faith is evidence to others. Pray that we will be REkindled, and that our faith may provide REassurance to others in need of hope.
