40 Days of Prayer and Fasting - Day 22
Day 22 – Thursday October 5th
You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you.
-John 15:16
It is humbling that not a single person has ever chosen to follow Jesus of their own accord. Instead, God reaches out to every person in prevenient grace prior to their accepting his invitation into REdemptive RElationship. We may think the story of our salvation reaches its peak when we declare faith and accept Jesus, when we are saved and sanctified. That, however, is just the high point of the first chapter, the beginning of a much longer story. We are saved not just for ourselves, but that we might bear fruit, and the Father will provide whatever we ask as we seek to bear that fruit. At the REvival, may we REsubmit ourselves to the Spirit, and may the Spirit bear fruit in our lives.
