40 Days of Prayer and Fasting - Day 31
Day 31 – Monday October 16th
But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.
-Matthew 6:33
There are fewer kingdoms today than there used to be. What we now consider England was once 7 kingdoms, and what is now Ireland once was 5. We don’t think of “kingdom” in the same way that people used to. When we think of Kingdoms we may think of castles, borders, and monarchs. But when the New Testament talks about Jesus’ Kingdom it is something else entirely. The Kingdom of Heaven or Christ’s Kingdom isn’t about land territory so much as territory of mind and heart; it is the REcognition that Jesus IS king in all areas of our lives. This is part of what Jesus means when he says to “seek first his kingdom.” Let everything you do REcognize him as King and bring glory to him. Pray that God will lead us and others to submit more and more to his Kingship.
