Day 319: Ezekiel 7-9; Hebrews 10
Former Central Baptist pastor with a personality larger than life, Charlie Manning, preached a famous (at least in Cumberland County, New Jersey) sermon entitled: One Size Fits All. He was a stout man. Wearing a very large, even too large for him, sweater, he would reveal its capacity and then preach about the Holy Spirit Whose infilling, gifting and ministry apply to us all, uniquely and universally. This is true! Scripture bears it out in many passages. Today, the writer to the Hebrews addresses the foundational truth of that message: "By this [God's] will, we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all time." (Hebrews 10:10, CSB) J.B. Chapman, early Nazarene leader and teacher, made this statement: "The cross that satisfies also sanctifies." It satisfies God's righteous judgment against sin, but also becomes the foundation for holy living. We complicate life. God's answer, though costly beyond measure, is marvelously simple. The only answer is Jesus, and Jesus is enough! One Lord, one faith, one baptism. One size fits all! Trust wholly in Jesus to save, satisfy and sanctify! Be confident of this, that He Who began this good work in you will carry it on to completion, for this is the will of God.

Pastor Manning! He was my pastor for several years! His words were a real balm, at times. Yes, the Holy Spirit fits all.
