Day 227: Jeremiah 13-15; Psalm 56

This phrase from our Jeremiah reading today called for reflection: "we bear Your name" (Jeremiah 14:9; 15:16). It brought to mind Sunday's sermon by Pastor Deserea calling us to love Your way as 'imitators of God' (we bear Your name) who are Christians ('little Christ' - we bear Your name). Today, may we be conscious of how we bear this grace-filled Family resemblance filled with glorious hope, called to eternity-witnessing responsibility. We need Your Holy Spirit in us to live out the 'bearing of Your name'...after all, we want our Abba Father to be pleased with His children, and we want the world to see our Family resemblance. In Jesus' Name and for His sake we ask. Amen!

Yep. That message from Deserea was so meant for my ears. My mismanagement of anger and resentment is a real problem. I am praying today for God to help me - and to let Him.

About that sermon...I have heard at least four people in conversation about its timeliness for them...you are not alone.
