Day 239: Jeremiah 46-48; Psalm 68
"Praise be to the Lord, to God our Savior, who daily bears our burdens." (Psalm 68:19, NIV)
You have invited us to cast all our cares, our burdens, our anxieties on You, for You care deeply and intimately for us (1 Peter 5:7). Why, then, after we have bowed at an altar of surrender and left our burdens 'palms down' in Your strong hands and mighty arms, in Your gracious and loving care, do we pick them up again and walk away bowed down in their weight? First, thank You that You daily bear our burdens! That is beyond comprehension. You are, indeed, our Savior...now and forever! Forgive us for our lack of trust, our pride that says, 'I can do this myself,' and our forgetfulness of every past burden that You have rolled away from us. Thank You for Your incredible patience with us! Today, this day, we once again cast all our cares on You. Please, Lord, help us not to pick them up again. In the Name of Jesus. Amen!

Is this me, or what? Never completely trusting. Why? Never can put both feet down. Got to keep praying for complete surrender of my heart and mind, maybe it is not ALL emotions.
Perhaps this is why Paul writes, "I die daily." (1 Corinthians 15:31). He understood the human condition and realized that to 'remain in Him' we have to live in surrender.
