Day 274: Jonah 2-4; Micah 1-3; Psalm 103
I knew that you are a gracious and compassionate God, slow to anger and abounding in love, a God who relents from sending calamity. (Jonah 4:2b, NIV)
The LORD is compassionate and gracious,
slow to anger, abounding in love.
He will not always accuse,
nor will he harbor his anger forever;
he does not treat us as our sins deserve
or repay us according to our iniquities. (Psalm 103:8-10, NIV)
LORD, our God and Father, this we pray: may we never get over Your amazing grace toward us. What the Psalmist sings and Jonah prays we have found to be true. Your love and mercy and grace are beyond our comprehension, yet the reality of our experience with You. We can never thank and praise You enough! Let this be the incentive for our own action toward others. Help us love and forgive as You have done for us. And, may we never value anything more than the people You love, for whom You sent Jesus that they, too, may know Your love and mercy and grace. In His Name we pray all this. Amen.
