Day 284: Matthew 8-9; Psalm 113

Sometimes our approach to You is like that of the leper: "Lord, if You are willing..." Your response to him almost catches us off guard: "I AM willing..." Why would we wonder about Your desire to meet us at our point of deepest need? Help us to see ourselves as Your image-bearers. Help us to understand Your perfect, loving care for us. Help us to see ourselves as You do. Help us to trust Your answer as what is not only the right answer, but what is truly best for us at the core of our being. Lord, thank You that You are willing and that You only await our trust in Your willingness, and that, best of all, You only desire to give us Your very best...Yourself.
