Day 305: Luke 10-11; Psalm 134

We will ever stand with the disciples in need of Your instruction, Lord Jesus: "Teach us to pray." Your prayer was so simple and yet so profound. It was not wordy, but it said so much. It was reverent but intimate, and audacious in its asking. Too often we are impressed with our own words. Forgive us. Or, we believe our lack of eloquence matters to you. Forgive us. When we come with a half-focused attention, forgive us. When we forget Who You are...God and Daddy, forgive us. Thank You that despite all of this, You welcome us. You want our relationship with You to be fresh and real. You delight in our trust and You are patient in our learning. In all of this and for all of this we are grateful. Please keep teaching us and thank You for listening! In the Name of Jesus we pray. Amen!

Boy, is this me! “ Half focused “ and hurried prayers. God deserves so much better from me. Look at all He has given me. Another devotion I read recently said- God loves me not for what I am, but for Who and What He is. Heard it before, but paid attention this time- for the most part.

Daily let me grow and learn. Amen.
