Day 335: Romans 12-15; Psalm 14

Lord God, it seems very fitting in this moment to lift up our government and all who govern us in any way...all You have placed in authority over us (Romans 13:1-5). Too often we find it easy to complain about and criticize our authorities when Your Word calls us to pray for them (1 Timothy 2:1-2). Indeed, we are to pray for Your manifest presence. Our desire should be for peace and right living...Your will done here on earth as it is in heaven. Let this be so, Lord God, for Your honor and glory! Bless our leaders with humility to seek Your help, with wisdom and discernment to lead well, and with love, kindness, and generosity to lift up those they govern. May they learn to be like Jesus...servant leaders. This we ask for His sake and in His Name. Amen!
