Day 16: Genesis 38-40; Matthew 13:24-58

True faith cannot be destroyed by disappointment...it is trust in a God Who sees and is in the bigger picture. Despite the wrong that had been done to Joseph, and it was extreme, he continued to walk in God's way and bear fruit in his undeserved circumstances. Were he not there, would he have gained an audience with Pharaoh? So God honored Joseph's trust and made his suffering a bridge to his significance...second in command to the king. This takes me to a very familiar promise in Romans: "And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them" (Romans 8:28, NLT). Keep trusting...God has you in His loving care.
