While Jesus' comment about what comes out of the mouth (Matthew 15:11) is in a negative context...he was speaking of what is in the heart, and pointing to the hypocrisy of the Pharisees...today's readings make me think of the positive. True faith cannot be destroyed by disappointment...it is trust in a God Who sees and is in the bigger picture. Despite the wrong that had been done to Joseph, and it was extreme, he continued to walk in God's way and bear fruit in his undeserved circumstances.
