Day 92: Judges 9-10; Luke 8:26-56

There is a tenderness to the heart of God that finds its expression in the roller coaster journey of Israel during the period of the judges. Once again the people cry out to God in desperation. They are enduring His judgment for their sins and they need deliverance. The writer invites us into God's compassionate heart: "...and He could bear the misery of Israel no longer" (Judges 10:16b, NASB). Their repentance is sincere. God challenges them (Judges 10:11-14) after they confess (Judges 10:10), and they demonstrate their obedient surrender (Judges 10:15)...they get rid of their idols and submit to whatever God decides, still serving Him. This is a season that reminds us that God's character does not change...He is gracious and compassionate, forgiving and restoring. Praise Him!

Because of the LORD’s faithful love
we do not perish,
for his mercies never end.
They are new every morning;
great is your faithfulness! (Lamentations 3:22-23, CSB)
