Day 152: 2 Chronicles 4-6; John 12:20-50

Allow me to digress from our reading. Last evening as beautiful as it was outside, we took our chairs out, put them in a circle, prayed and pondered the Word. Even two Zoomers joined in. As we sat in the outdoor sanctuary, the presence of God was clearly with us. No cloud covered that sanctuary as it did for Solomon's temple dedication, but the witness of God's presence was felt. We took some time to reflect on the Gift of Pentecost, the Holy Spirit...Who He is, what He does, how we know. In our conversation, it became clear that the Word and the Holy Spirit are real and relevant. People in different walks of life, at different stages of their Christian journey, testified and the Spirit bore witness. This pastor left blessed and deeply grateful! If the Greeks who came to Philip asking to see Jesus walked up to that circle and listened to the witness, they would have encountered Jesus in us and seen Him glorified (John 12:20-23).

Today, bear witness to Jesus' presence in your life through the Holy Spirit. He will empower and enable you to do so. He will take your witness and apply it to the hearts of those with whom you share. And, know this, He has been working in the lives of those you encounter, preparing them for your witness. Be bold and courageous. You are not alone!
