Day 160: 2 Chronicles 29-31; John 18:1-24

And how bold and free we then become in his presence, freely asking according to his will, sure that he’s listening. And if we’re confident that he’s listening, we know that what we’ve asked for is as good as ours. (1 John 4:14-15, The Message).

As I read the return to God-centered living under the leadership of King Hezekiah (2 Chronicles 29-31), I found the joy in the renewed faith and practice, prayer and worship of God's people contagious. There is a wonderful freedom, a united ingathering across a divided nation, and an eagerness to join in the celebration of God's grace and glory. Yes, revival brings God joy as it floods the lives of God's children and overflows. Prayer leads to revival, this we know! Without exception, every revival has had its foundation in prayer. But, prayer, mighty prayer, is also the outcome of revival. Heaven is moved in power and the blessing of God is everywhere evident...even from the throne of grace. Let us come then with this confidence, that God has heard and answered our prayers. Let Him be glorified!

The priests and Levites had the last word: they stood and blessed the people. And God listened, listened as the ascending sound of their prayers entered his holy heaven. (2 Chronicles 30:27, The Message)
