Day 171: Nehemiah 12-13; Acts 4:23-37

Great power and great grace, what a beautiful combination (Acts 4:33). With great power the early Christians gave witness, and this was a direct result of their prayer for boldness (4:29). Yes, and that prayer for boldness came after there was opposition at the highest level. Out of opposition and struggle opportunity arises for God's glory to shine through His surrendered and willing children. Through the struggle, God reminds us by His Spirit in us that He is in control, and that He does work all things together for the good of those who love Him and are called according to His purpose (Romans 8:28). Everything God does, He does on purpose and for good. Out of the demonstration of great power came great grace. Grace is saving grace and keeping grace. In itself, grace is power to save and enablement to live the saved life. Great grace was demonstrated again in the care the Early Church as they gave in ministry one to another. My heart cries out: "Do it again, Abba Father! Demonstrate Your great power in presence through the witness of Your children, and may the result be great grace!"
