Day 185: Job 28-30; Acts 12

James dies. Peter lives. James is martyred. Peter is miraculously set free (Acts 12:1-19). Jesus said it would be so. Sometimes it is difficult to discern the mind and actions of God. Not for a moment do I believe asking God hard questions is a sin, or even wrong. One thing I have learned in all of the hard questions of life is that in the end, answers or not (really this, too is an answer), I can trust God with and in everything, even with my life. Ultimately, the words of Paul to the Philippians are true: "For me, to live is Christ and to die is gain" (1:21). The one thing that centers me in all of the great challenges of life, is the privilege of prayer, of deep and intimate relationship with God. However He chooses to answer, I have learned, and am learning, to trust Him. And, when the answer comes knocking, for heaven's sake, Rhoda, open the door!
