Day 186: Job 31-32; Acts 13:1-25

Before our eyes we see the Great Commission - making Christlike disciples in all nations (Matthew 28:19-20) - fulfilled as Jesus keeps the promise of Pentecost - power to witness with ever spreading effect (Acts 1:8). Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria (Acts 8), to the ends of the earth (Starting in Acts 10). The courage of the disciples from Cyprus and Cyrene to witness to gentiles in Antioch is richly rewarded and there the believers first get called 'little Christs' (Christians - Acts 11:19-26). They could not keep quiet about Jesus, and their lives bore witness to their words...they were Christ-like. God moved mightily. This became the hub of Paul's missionary journeys...yes, they were the ones, not the Jerusalem Church, that sent out Paul and Barnabas (Acts 13:2-3). The call to mission remains. Obedient, everyday people, sharing the Good News and investing in the lives of others for Jesus' sake is the age-old commission. Let's embrace it and go in the power of the Holy Spirit. He is faithful!
