Day 200: Psalms 25-27; Acts 20:17-38

"Vindicate me, Lord,
because I have lived with integrity
and have trusted in the Lord without wavering.
Test me, Lord, and try me;
examine my heart and mind.
For your faithful love guides me,
and I live by your truth." (Psalm 26:1-3, CSB)

Everything about Paul's farewell communication with the Ephesians bears out these words. In essence Paul is saying, "I have lived out the truth I proclaim for the sake of Jesus and so that the world may know Him. Now, Ephesians, you do the same." I was reminded of this truth in my devotional reading by E.M. Bounds: "The world judges religion not by what the Bible says, but how Christians live. Christians are the Bible that sinners read." He wrote this over 100 years ago and it is apropos today. His conclusion for all of us in this vital truth: "Ask the Spirit to guide you to a more holy life." This is the answer, and the way we can truly say what the Psalmist proclaims: "Your faithful love guides me and I live by your truth."
