Day 210: Psalms 53-55; Acts 27:27-44

"Paul took some bread, and having given thanks to God in the presence of them all, after he broke it, he began to eat . They all were encouraged and took food themselves." (Acts 27:35-36)

Do you pause to thank God publicly for your meals? If you do so at home, why not before every meal? This is not just a show, but a reminder that every meal is sacramental...a reminder of God's daily provision and His ultimate Provision. Paul mirrored Jesus in his actions, and this moment became sacred enough for Luke to record, making it find a place in the Sacred Record. Your prayer gives thanks to God and becomes a witness to others. You will never know who you touch and impact by bearing witness. Several years ago, a Christian celebrity snapped a shot of a couple unobtrusively and naturally praying over their meal in an airport. The person needed a reminder that there are still those who place God first in all things. They were given hope in that moment. She posted the photo. I do not remember the celebrity, but I know who she photographed...Rondalyn's uncle and aunt, her Dad's older brother. Give thanks without show and without shame. You will glorify God and touch the lives of others for Jesus' sake.
