Day 213: Psalms 62-64; Romans 1
Rest in God alone, my soul,
for my hope comes from him.
He alone is my rock and my salvation,
my stronghold; I will not be shaken.
My salvation and glory depend on God, my strong rock.
My refuge is in God.
Trust in him at all times, you people;
pour out your hearts before him.
God is our refuge. (Psalm 62:5-8, CSB)
For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, first to the Jew, and also to the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith, just as it is written: The righteous will live by faith. (Romans 1:16-17, CSB)
Another testimony. Last night I received a call about a matter which had all heaven rejoicing (see Luke 15). The son of a father with a hardened heart had been praying, even crying out to God, for his dad's salvation for years. He had enlisted the prayers of other brothers in Christ whom he trusted to pray with him, knowing the urgency. I was privileged to be one of those prayers. The call last night was to share of the faithfulness of God, Who is not willing that any should perish but all should come to repentance. In a Divine orchestration of persons in place and a sensitivity to the Holy Spirit's prompting, the son shared the Gospel, a neighbor-believer joined the conversation, and a heart was transformed by God's amazing grace. Praise God from Whom all blessings flow! Here's a word of encouragement: never give up on praying for your lost loved ones and friends! God hears and is relentlessly at work to save them from their sin!
