Day 222: Psalms 85-87; Romans 9

"That is, it is not the children by physical descent who are God’s children, but the children of the promise are considered to be the offspring." (Romans 9:8, CSB)

Children of the promise...don't you love that phrase? Child of wonder, child of grace, child of love...all of these 'labels' come to mind. Today I am reminded who I am, who you are in Him. This reminds me of the apostle John in his prologue: "He came to his own, and his own people did not receive him. But to all who did receive him, he gave them the right to be children of God, to those who believe in his name, who were born, not of natural descent, or of the will of the flesh, or of the will of man, but of God." (John 1:11-13, CSB) This is amazing grace and how marvelous it is that God invites us into His family by simple faith. He chooses us. We choose Him in response. We become the children of the promise! Thanks be to God!
