Day 226: Psalms 96-98; Romans 12

"If possible, so far as it depends on you, live in shalom with all people." (Romans 12:18, TLV)

Genuine agape-love (Romans 12:9) impacts all my living. Because of that, my concern will be the total well-being of others, their shalom, their peace. This is the outflow of loving one another deeply (Romans 12:10). These verses look and sound like proverbs. As such, I love the wisdom of Paul, they remind us to do our part with all that we are, by the grace of God. There may be those who strongly resist our acts of love, borne in love, for their well-being. Though we may feel responsible for their reactions, we cannot be. With a certainty, I am writing to someone who is reading this who loves someone deeply and is living that love, but the person is not responding, or may even be retaliating. Perhaps, they are simply living their own lives in spite of, and in opposition to, the one loving. Keep loving all you can, in wisdom showing that love, doing what you know to do...and leave the rest with God. Much easier said than done, this I know. But remember this, love wins out, and God, Who loves them most, is pursuing your loved-one like a hound on a hunt...the Hound of Heaven. He will not stop! Rest in Him.
