Day 232: Psalms 112-113; 1 Corinthians 1

"Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord." (1 Corinthians 1:34; Jeremiah 9:24)

"A life of prayer leads to full consecration. Consecration fully recognizes God's ownership of us." (E.M. Bounds, The Power of Prayer) If I recognize what Paul writes to a divided and boasting church in Corinth, that Jesus is both God's power (ability to overcome and thrive) and wisdom (ability to apply truth to everyday life) in and for us, then I know that apart from Christ I am still hopelessly lost. In Him I can do all things! My surrendered being becomes His person to impact the world in which He placed me on purpose. In reflecting on the Word and my life, I recognize this truth: His power at work in me, His wisdom applied by the presence of the Holy Spirit, when I have given myself fully over to these, then I have always been at my best. Therefore, He deserves the glory, and in Him alone will I boast!
