Day 234: Psalms 116-119:48; 1 Corinthians 3
We were made to enjoy the beauty of God's creation, the joy of human fellowship, and an unbroken relationship with God. Of course, we know the story of Adam...our story. There is an optimism that says, 'Left to its own devices, the human race is basically good, and given unrestrained freedom, it will thrive." This optimism is deluded. The evidence is everywhere present.
On the other hand, I love the optimism of God. Grace embraced and lived out in God's plan by God's power at work in us helps us enjoy the beauty of God's creation as good stewards, enter into the joy of human fellowship respecting the value of God-created persons, and living in that unbroken relationship with Him. Here is true freedom, walking in God's way, and it is good!
Let your faithful love come to me, LORD,
your salvation, as you promised...
I will walk freely in an open place
because I study your precepts. (Psalm 119:41,45, CSB)
