Day 237: Psalms 120-123; 1 Corinthians 6

Joining the chorus, singing in the sanctuary with fellow-worshipers, these bring joy. Today we have begun a series of 15 Psalms called 'The Songs of Ascent'...pilgrim songs sung going up to Jerusalem, enroute to holy festivals celebrating God's deliverance, forgiveness and provision. They are divided into groups of three (unfortunately our reading doesn't recognize this). The first in the group of three is a complaint, the middle is a centering in on God and His answer, the last is the climax of celebration...arriving at God's promise. Check it out with Psalms 120, 121, and 122, they are quick reads and illustrate the point. You recognize some very familiar verses there, don't you? Celebrate God's hearing our cry, delivering us, and providing for us, starting with His gracious forgiveness. Join the chorus, the mighty chorus: Hallelujah!
