Day 246: Proverbs 1-2; 1 Corinthians 12:1-13

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge;
fools despise wisdom and discipline. (Proverbs 1:7, CSB)

Let's get this straight from the get-go! Wisdom and folly...this will be the focus of all we read. Of course, the goal is embracing wisdom, for the end of folly is the end! Wisdom, on the other hand, is life! Do you want wisdom? Start with Yahweh, the Ever-present, Promise-keeping, Loyal and Loving God. Start in right relationship with Him...in deep, abiding, humble reverence. When this is our starting point, we will gain wisdom...the knowledge of Him and how to live His way in the world with a future that is eternally glorious.

Contrast the fool. This person despises the Owner (Yahweh) and dismisses the Owner's Manual for Living (the Word) because he/she wants to be his/her own lord, wants no boundaries and would rather revel in perceived freedom than live in a way that gives life meaning, purpose, direction, hope and a future. The end of this person is beyond tragic...forever...and leaves in its wake a destructive path for those who follow folly fatally.
