Day 249: Proverbs 7-8; 1 Corinthians 14

Whatever spiritual gift we have, and we all have at least one (1 Corinthians 12:7), it is given by the Holy Spirit 'for the common good' (same verse) that 'the church may be built up' (1 Corinthians 14:5). This is the opposite of a world that is focused on 'individual rights' and 'personal freedom.' As has been said before, a world revolving around me is very tiny, but an outwardly focused, Kingdom building approach to life is bigger than the world. Church about me is not church at all. Church about Jesus is Church, and focused on Jesus, it becomes about us. And, when we each work for the common good, then we enjoy the benefits personally. Surrendered to Him, gifted by His Spirit, committed to the Body, I find meaning and purpose and blessing, even as I bless Him...and that is often through blessing others. Check out my verse of the day: "If we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another and the blood of Jesus cleanses us from all sin" (1 John 1:7).

I need to remember to"walk in the Light." I seem to see lots of dark. Jesus is at the helm and always in control. Makes my heart feel better writing this. 🌞

There is darkness all around, but I am glad for this: Jesus, the Light of the world, is in us dispelling the encroaching darkness. I am also glad for this: that we have fellowship with one another...walking in the light, God helps us and we help each other deal with the darkness. Grateful for the Church! Thanks for your candor...you are a blessing!
