Day 265: Song of Songs 1-3; 2 Corinthians 12

Recently I have had conversations with people looking for a relationship leading to marriage. In the good old days, often someone would introduce us to a person of the opposite gender and an ambitious person, may try to 'set us up' with someone they thought would be 'perfect' for us. All of this was well-intentioned, if not always appreciated. Though this is not my practice, I have learned that I would not be a good match-maker by my thoughts and prayers about potential matches. God knows best! In this day and age, there are a plethora of social media tools to help people make that match, even 'Christian' sights. I have seen it work. But a word to the wise: "...do not stir up or awaken love until the appropriate time" (Song of Songs 3:5). One of the people I talked to (you do not know) was way too anxious, scaring those sought in relationship away. It is difficult to be patient when love seems long in coming. Another was shocked at people's definition of what 'Christian living and loving' means to people engaged in Christian websites. But patience, and staying true to biblical principles, has payed off. God cares deeply about you and your desires. Rest in Him! Delight yourself in Him! He will honor your trust and obedience to His Word. In His time, He makes all things beautiful and right.
