Day 283: Isaiah 41-42; Colossians 1

“This is my servant; I strengthen him,
this is my chosen one; I delight in him.
I have put my Spirit on him;
he will bring justice to the nations." (Isaiah 42:1, CSB)

With these words, Isaiah introduces 'the Servant Songs' to his readers, the first (Isaiah 42:1-9) of four. God affirms His servant in the Gospels using these words during Jesus' earthly ministry (Matthew 3:17; 17:5). And Paul, spells out this truth so beautifully.

He is the image of the invisible God,
the firstborn over all creation.
For everything was created by him,
in heaven and on earth,
the visible and the invisible,
whether thrones or dominions
or rulers or authorities—
all things have been created through him and for him.
He is before all things,
and by him all things hold together. (Colossians 1:15-17, CSB)

This Christ is in you and me...the hope of glory...worship Him, live in Him, and thank God for the promise of His Presence!
