40 Days of Prayer and Fasting - Day 28
Day 28 – Thursday October 12th
Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.
Do not cast me from your presence or take your Holy Spirit from me.
Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.
-Psalm 51:10
Whether someone is driving a small motorboat, or a massive ship out at sea, there are likely anchors on board if they are needed. Anchors are heavy and tie the ship to one place. They slow and eventually stop any forward momentum. While many things can impede our walk with Jesus, few things can stop us and hold us as surely as guilt. David was feeling the anchor of guilt as he wrote these words. He had just been confronted about Bathsheba and immediately feared losing his relationship with God. Take some time during prayer to REflect on what you may be feeling guilty about. What anchors are weighing you down? Release them to God and as we gather for revival he will REstore to you the joy of salvation.
