40 Days of Prayer and Fasting - Sunday Feast 10/15
Sunday Feast! No Fast Today!
Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.
-Colossians 3:12-14
The testimony of the church is tied to our unity. Those in need of Christ are more likely to hear and accept the Good News that we speak when they see it played out in how we live their lives and relate to one another. Paul gives this list describing what the love and unity among believers should look like. Christlikeness should look like this today too. The absence of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience in an individual or a whole church family usually points to a desire to be in charge rather than Christ. As you pray today, pray that the Spirit will increase these fruit among us and REpair any damage done in their absence, so that, in unity, we can speak the name of Christ and tell the story of his grace.
