Day 291: Isaiah 62-64; 1 Thessalonians 5

Paul dispels all speculation about the 'end of times.' About the times and the seasons, there need be no speculation, just be ready because Jesus will come at any moment, and many will be surprised because they are living in a false sense of security. Live ready, in obedience to God out of love, and in a loving relationship with each other (1 Thessalonians 5:1-11). Simple enough. How do we stay in the place of readiness? Pray! Ceaselessly pray (v.17). Interestingly enough, that was the call of Isaiah...prayer could have saved a nation from exile, prayer did bring a remnant back to see God's ultimate Promise. So, pray says Isaiah, and he models prayer (Isaiah 62:1,6; 63:15-64:12). The day in which we live, to use an old English term, is perilous. We must devote ourselves to prayer. God is faithful! He moves in answer to the cry of our hearts!

"From ancient times no one has heard, no one has listened to, no eye has seen any God except you who acts on behalf of the one who waits for him." (Isaiah 64:4, CSB).

I am trying to pray more. Depending on man is not the answer. God is the Ultimate- My Maker.
