Day 292: Isaiah 65-66; 2 Thessalonian 1

"Even before they call, I will answer; while they are still speaking, I will hear." (Isaiah 65:24, CSB)

How different is the heart of God from the hearts of humanity! He who pursues us in goodness and unfailing love (Psalm 23:6), and allows Himself to be found by those who do not seek Him or call on His Name (Isaiah 65:1), is constantly rejected by those who do not answer His call or listen when He speaks (Isaiah 66:4). In the end, they can and should expect judgment (even though they are in denial and rebellion); however, until the end, the heart of God is the heart of loving pursuit. Today, let us redouble our prayers for those we love who are lost in their sin, and let us pray that God may use us as a part of His calling voice...for He will surely hear the cries of their hearts before they ever vocalize a prayer and answer as they are speaking.

It has been brought home to me, that I cannot change hearts, many times. Yet, I still try. Only God can. Wish I could get that straight.

So goes the journey for us all...but, gratefully, God never gives up!
