Day 34 – Thursday October 19th
Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with God’s people and also members of his household, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone. In him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord. And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit.

Jesus is our cornerstone. We pray this and sing this, but do we understand it? In styles of architecture that used them, corner stones were placed before any other stone of the foundation. The cornerstone was perfectly aligned, and every other stone was lined up to it and built upon it. Because the cornerstone is true and perfectly place, the entire building can align and function as it is supposed to. Is Jesus the cornerstone of your life? Or just one of the many stones in the foundation? Pray that in this time of anticipation and in the time of gathering, that the Spirit will help us to REalign with the cornerstone so that our lives will line up with, build upon, and point to Jesus.
