Day 302: Jeremiah 23-24; 2 Timothy 2

"The Word of God is not enchained" (2 Timothy 2:9b)

There is an arrogant attempt in our culture to rewrite history, redefine culture, and re-appropriate words to suit the agenda of the same. Do I sound like a conspiracy theorist? I am in this sense. Ever since the serpent deceived Adam and Eve, he has been on a path to destroy all that God made good, and his most effective tool is the lie (twisted words). Of course, this should not surprise us, for the Word Who Is Before Time, the Word Made Flesh, Jesus, called the Deceiver what he is: a liar and the father of all lies (John 8:44). Imprisoned Paul speaks truth when he declares the Word cannot be imprisoned...not physically, not by the lie of the devil. There is no power that can suppress, destroy, erase the Word of God. The messenger can be imprisoned, the Word cannot. The messenger can be silenced, the Word cannot. It will go out bearing fruit (Isaiah 55:10-11) and will endure through every generation and on through eternity (Matthew 24:35). There is nothing in the world that can keep me from the Word, on this I base my life and stake my future, for the Author of the Word is my Father, the Word lived out is my Savior, and the Inspiration of it all, the Holy Spirit lives within me. Praise God for the Word!
