Day 305: Jeremiah 29-30; Titus 1
Jacob’s leader will be one of them;
his ruler will issue from him.
I will invite him to me, and he will approach me,
for who would otherwise risk his life to approach me?
This is the Lord’s declaration. (Jeremiah 30:21, CSB)
Listen for God's promises in the midst of challenges, and depend on Him! We know about God's plans for us (29:11-14), and, here, we begin to understand the depth of the blessing. Of course, Jeremiah is talking about Jesus, Emmanuel, the Ruler who will come from Jacob's line and be the 'One Mediator between God and humanity who gave His life as a ransom' (1 Timothy 2:5-6). It will not be long before we begin to celebrate His advent, but why not today? For even as He mediated and interceded for us at His first advent, He ever lives to make intercession for us now (Hebrews 7:25). One day He is coming back for us. Glorious day! In the meantime, live in His presence, lean on His promises.
