Day 332: Ezekiel 37-38; 1 Peter 4
"I will display my greatness and holiness, and I will reveal myself in the sight of many nations. Then they will know that I am the LORD." (Ezekiel 38:23, CSB)
"Instead, rejoice as you share in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may also rejoice with great joy when his glory is revealed." (1 Peter 4:13, CSB).
How often have you heard someone say, "Scripture is being fulfilled before our very eyes. How long can it be before Christ returns?"? Some will respond with a smile: "Yes, since Christ's ascension, the Church has been certain that His coming will be at any moment...whatever the case, we know we are closer to it than we have ever been." Peter gives us counsel for the moment in which we live: stay true to Jesus, watch and pray (of course, I summarize). We know for certain that we are not alone. We have the Holy Spirit to help, guide and empower us. We have the fellowship of believers to share in the journey in accountability and support. Whatever God's timing, be certain of this: ultimately the nations will know that He is LORD, great and holy. This, too, will be known: Jesus Christ is LORD, and when He is revealed in all His glory, we shall share in His joy. Stay close to God. Stay connected to His Family. Hold onto the hope that is ours in Christ!
