Day 337: Ezekiel 47-48; 1 John 1
"...fellowship with Him...fellowship with one another..." (1 John 1:6-7)
John defines fellowship with Jesus by contrasts: walk in darkness - no fellowship; walk in the light - fellowship. If we want to live the 'common/communion life' (koinonia) with Jesus, we must be done with darkness. We cannot live with a foot in each world, or as Bunyan would say, we cannot be 'mister facing both ways.' If we are living in close communion with Jesus, then, we are growing (walking) into close communion with one another. So vital is our living the communion life (koinonia) with one another (Psalm 133:1,3) that that is where we encounter the cleansing work of Jesus and God commands His blessing, life forever. Today and tomorrow will be days of celebrating 'Holy Communion' throughout the Church of Jesus Christ. These are reminders that we are 'walking in the Light' and living out His new commandment (John 13:34-35) instituted in Holy Communion: loving (with God's kind of love) one another. Live in the Light and walk together. Share in the grace of holy communion.
