Day 346: Hosea 7-10; Revelation 2

The letters to the seven churches (Revelation 2-3) always become a call to reflection for me. Like Ephesus (2:1-7), am I being intolerant of evil without a loveless legalism, so at the same time am I loving God with all I am and my neighbor as myself? As in Smyrna (2:8-11), can I be like this church about which Christ only had commendation, for they were rich in everything that mattered to Him? With Pergamum (2:12-17) in the midst of all that is counter-Christ, can I hold fast to the Name of Jesus, not denying Him, and in so doing not grow tolerant of false teaching that undermines my faith? And, like Thyatira (2:18-29) am I growing daily in my faith journey, in Christlikeness, without tolerating sin in the camp? Christ loves us enough to call us to account, and His gracious kindness promises us an eternity of rich rewards. Hold on to the Truth and let Him guide our journey into His promise.
