Day 350: Amos 4-6; Revelation 6

There are times when I consider the evil of our day that I wonder: "“Lord, the one who is holy and true, how long until you judge those who live on the earth?" (Revelation 6:10). Indeed, it seems the world has mimicked Israel: "Yet you have turned justice into poison and the fruit of righteousness into wormwood." (Amos 6:12). God has promised through His Word that He will judge with righteousness and truth/fairness (Psalm 9:8). However, we were also reminded in our reading last Sunday that God's delayed judgment is because of His great grace. He is patient, not wanting any to perish but all to come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9). These are moments when we should thank God for His delays and pray in earnest for the salvation of the lost, starting with those nearest to us. O God, hear our prayer. Save the lost from sin. Transform our world by Your Spirit and "...let justice flow like water, and righteousness, like an unfailing stream" (Amos 5:24). Amen!
