Day 29: Exodus 30-32; Psalm 29

Father,
You are holy, holy, holy! Today I read that the pure in heart will see God and those who truly see God will long to become more pure in heart. I imagine Moses up on that mountain was seeing Your unveiled holiness, Your purity. On the other hand, the people below were focused on themselves. Their self-focus led to awful sin. A holy God cannot abide sin. But, holy love can forgive sin, and cleanse the heart. When Moses came down to the absolute mess that sin had made in the camp, he who had been in Your presence, in holy love made an unbelievable intercession: "Forgive their sin, but if not, blot my name out of Your book." This reminds me of Christ on the cross: "Father, forgive!" You forgave. You still forgive. I am so humbled, for I have lived in that forgiveness. Grant that as I live a life seeking to be daily more like You, that I shall also learn the love that seeks to intercede intensely for those who have fallen so far from grace that they live in Your immanent judgment. I want to be like Jesus...holy, pure in heart, forgiving and interceding. Amen!

My lack of faith and self- focus are a constant problem. I have to keep on trusting in His Power.

Keep giving it over...God helps us in our weakness, this I know.
