Day 67: Deuteronomy 21-23; Psalm 67
May God be gracious to us and bless us and make his face shine on us—
so that your ways may be known on earth, your salvation among all nations. (Psalm 67:1-2, NIV)
Here is the extent of Your grace toward us, O God, Your salvation among all nations: You sent Your Son to bear our sin, to take upon Himself our deadly curse, to die our death, so that we might live life as Your children and enjoy the gift of Life eternal. Thank You that You have made this known on earth. Help us today to be the bearers of this Great Good News, the heralds of this Hope so that Your desire that none should perish, but all come to repentance, can come to be, one person at a time...yes, for You it is very personal. Thank You for hearing and answering our prayers in Jesus Name! Amen.

"... Your desire...that none should perish..." So much better than " ... at the end, we will agree... that those who reject God will perish. The "we will agree" is so heartbreaking for me. My old S.S. teacher was wise, but when he expressed it this way, it came across as cruel...

So often we are the product of our upbringing and teach what we are taught. This is why it is so important for me to keep coming back to the Word and letting it shape my thinking and understanding. God is gracious and He is faithful and His Truth will prevail.
"Lord, let me always be aware that when I speak on Your behalf, I must submit wholly to Your Spirit and Your Word."
