Day 73: Joshua 3-5; Psalm 73

Father God,
Who can know what a day will hold but You alone? There are moments we get ambushed by what we see, where we have been, what we have done, or what has been done to us. Even when we have done all in surrendered service to You, our enemy wants to draw our focus away from You...to our past, our failures, or to the seeming ease and careless excess of a world that lives in antagonism to You and Your way. Thank You for this mini-sanctuary, this thin place (thanks St. Patrick for the phrase), where we meet with You daily and You put everything in perspective (Psalm 73:16-17). Yes, even in the possible failure of our motivation and abilities, You are the strength of our hearts and our portion forever. Because You have set the boundaries of our lives, we have learned to lean on You, to say 'Yes' to Your call, no matter what. Ultimately this is our surrender, our consecration, our trust and our joy: "Whom have I in heaven but You? And earth has nothing I desire apart from You!" (Psalm 73:25). Thank You for giving us this great security: We are Yours! And, You are ours! Through Jesus and in His Name. Amen!

These are a sweet reminder that - with God- and only Him- " it is well with my soul..."
